The golf course is surrounded by huge hills and lakes with undulating terrain to test the skills of any golfer. The championship course has 12 hectares of water hazards in play at 11 of the 18 holes. Whereas the 3rd & 4th nines beckons a hilly terrain to test the golfers endurance. 6130 meters and 6047 meters respectively with 18-holes at Par 72. The 4 nine-holes offer an exciting combination for the regulars, but first timers usually end up learning that course management and not long shorts is the secret to better scares on the course. Although some of the holes have wide fairways, the many lakes, Streams and hazards lurk around the course make it necessary to indulge in safe play with more iron play than wood. The undulating terrain, with boulders and outcrops, bunkers and water, makes it necessary for golfers to veer clear these hazards on nearly every hole. Designed by Tun Ghafar Baba, the fairways are planted with axonophus compressus grass while the green are carpeted with serangoon. The championship 18-hole, which has hosted several international tournaments continues to be favorite among members and guests. Hole 15 Par-3, one of the most picturesque holes on the course and one of the most daunting as well -thus it's nicknamed "Beauty and the Beast". The hillside tee shot has to carry a lake which cuts in from the left to make the green, which slopes up away from the tee. 2 large bunkers to the left and right further complicate matters. |
